A Friday Night Christmas "Poem"

Twas the night before Saturday, and all through the office
Not a creature was stirring, except me, who was sneaking into offices on the South side of the building to take a picture of this sweet view of Millennium Park and South Michigan Avenue because all the people on the South side are moving to our new building at 300 East Randolph even though the rest of the firm isn't moving until January which makes no sense whatsoever
The door to my office was shut with great care

In hopes that no assholes would ruin my weekend

The children were nestled all snug in their pajama jeans (size X-Large, natch)
While visions of the only snow we've had all winter danced in their heads
And I and everyone in our ridiculous jackets,
Had just settled in to the idea that we better get an effing move on on getting our Christmas shopping done. Yikes!

When at Macy's on State Street there arose a beautiful photo op

Um...this is getting difficult and I really need to get back to watching House Hunters International.
CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DOWNTOWN CHICAGO FOLLOWED BY HOUSE HUNTERS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!
Macy's on State Street...Macy's is still the white trash cousin of Marshall Fields who is the white trash cousin of Dayton's, but...it's a famous Chicago thing these days so here it is.

Oh no, have I just lost my favourite pizza reviewer in HK to Chicago?
