Oktoberfest at Happy Valley Racetrack

For a town very obviously not comprised of German people (i.e., I am usually the most German person in any given location at any given time), HK really likes its Oktoberfest. Must be the pork knuckle. On Wednesday night I headed out to Happy Valley Racecourse to check out some sweet Oktoberfest action.

Below,

Beer sculling contest. Although the guy on the right's neck was thicker than my torso, he was beaten out by the striped shirt guy.

The stands. We were in the cheap "seats" (aka no seat at all) but hey, for US$1.50, its not a bad night out.
Liquor by jar - this is how you know you're in a classy establishment.

And lastly, the horses. I actually took this picture a year ago, but since I didn't have a view of the horses from my non-existent seat other than for .04 seconds when they ran by my field of vision, I thought this would be a better picture choice.
